Communication Genie
We’re looking for bright Communication Genie to join our team.
Heads up! The contract will be through one of our outsourcing partners, but you'll be working full-time with us as part of our team.
Critical TechWorks is searching for not one, but two talented Communication Genies to supercharge our internal and external communication efforts. Whether your magic lies in crafting compelling corporate stories for broad audiences, or in supporting leadership with sharp, high-level messaging, we want to hear from you.
These two roles work closely but focus on distinct missions — both essential to how we connect, inspire, and lead across Critical TechWorks.
Communication Genie – Corporate Communications (Lisbon)
You'll be key in shaping strategic messages, creating content that connects and inspires, and safeguarding our reputation inside and out. If you thrive on working autonomously, know how to prioritise what truly matters, and love bringing clarity and impact to complex stories — you might be exactly the Genie we’ve been wishing for.
- Craft compelling corporate content — from intranet updates and news articles, to newsletters, reports, and executive presentations.
- Safeguard the brand’s voice — ensure every piece of communication reflects our values, culture, and strategic direction.
- Support the editorial calendar — plan, prioritise, and deliver content independently, keeping all projects on track.
- Manage press relations — draft and share press releases, respond to media enquiries, and build strong relationships with journalists and partners.
- Support crisis communication — deliver clear, consistent, and strategic messaging during challenging moments.
- Monitor and analyse coverage — keep track of how we’re represented in the media and share insights to continuously improve.
- Drive employee engagement — design and run internal campaigns that foster connection, culture, and a sense of belonging.
- Ensure consistency — align tone, style, and visuals so that everything feels part of the same story.
Whatever you’re working on, here’s the lowdown on the technical skills you’re likely to have:
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or similar.
- Solid experience producing corporate content and handling press relations.
- Excellent, persuasive writing skills with a strong grasp of brand voice.
- Strategic thinking to protect and grow our brand presence.
- Calm, solution-focused approach to crisis communication.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the business.
- Confidence and autonomy to prioritise and deliver.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- C2-level written English.
Communication Genie – Leadership Communications (Oporto)
You'll be the go-to person for curating top-level comms, running our internal leadership channel, and making sure our Board of Directors and leadership speak the same language. If you’ve got a passion for clarity, structure, and meaningful messages — you might just be the whisperer we need.
- Own and manage our internal leadership communication channel – structure content, maintain flow, and keep messaging sharp and aligned.
- Craft high-impact leadership content – from briefing packs and toolkits to comms plans and executive summaries.
- Support strategic alignment – help connect leadership teams with the BoD through clear, consistent messaging.
- Coordinate communication moments – organise and deliver leadership events, from townhalls to strategy rollouts.
- Build and manage calendars – plan and prioritise leadership comms with foresight and structure.
- Drive engagement – ensure leadership messages resonate across the business.
- Monitor impact – gather feedback, track effectiveness, and improve continuously.
- Champion clarity – simplify the complex without losing meaning or momentum.
