Machine Learning Solution Development: Design and develop machine learning solutions, enhancing the capabilities and intelligence of BMW's systems.
Feature Engineering and Data Processing: Build and optimize feature engineering pipelines, transforming raw data into high-quality inputs for predictive models.
Model Training, Validation and Optimization: Train, evaluate, and improve machine learning models using modern techniques and frameworks, ensuring robust performance and accuracy.
Experimentation and Model Improvement: Lead experimentation, model validation, and performance optimization initiatives, driving continuous improvement of machine learning solutions
Collaborative Solution Design: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product visionaries, to design machine learning solutions that align with strategic objectives.
Whatever you’re working on, here’s the lowdown on the technical skills you’re likely to have:
At least 3 years of experience in technical software engineering, good scripting, and programming skills with at least one programming language (Python, Scala) and proficiency with data science libraries (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, sklearn).
Strong expertise in Feature Engineering and predictive modelling, building scalable solutions for real-world business challenges.
Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g. Scikit-Learn, XGBoost or similar gradient boosting frameworks, Pandas, NumPy).
Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL).
Experience working with public cloud platforms, especially AWS, and according to technologies and services is a plus (e.g. AWS SageMaker, AWS Glue, Apache Spark, AWS Athena).
Expertise with Feature Engineering, predictive modelling, machine learning experimentation, and model optimization.
Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including model lifecycle management, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Experience deploying and operating machine learning solutions in production environments is a big plus.
Experience in automotive data processing, machine learning, or predictive analytics is a big plus.

Embrace agile practices, especially Scrum, leveraging its events to foster a high-performing team.
Be cross-functional, developing new skills to enable a team that owns the entire product lifecycle.
Apply standard engineering practices using tools like version control, IDEs, and dashboards for organized development.
Adopt DevOps and MLOps best practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for building, testing, deploying, and operating reliable machine learning solutions.
Operate software post-deployment, including outside working hours if needed (extra compensation applies).
Travel abroad occasionally to support all phases of product development.
Have excellent English oral and written skills. German communication skills will be a plus.
