At Critical TechWorks, the AI Masterminds play a pivotal role in steering the future of software development. With a blend of technology, creativity, and a futurist mindset, you will be instrumental in reimagining how software should be planned, built, and operated in an AI-native world. Participate in the definition and drive the company’s AI strategy as an enabler of the business and software engineering vision. Acting as a bridge between business, technology, and people, the role translates ambition into execution while balancing innovation, risk, and trust. If you are passionate about technology and have the resilience to discover new ways of doing things, this is where your journey begins.
AI System Development: Architect, build, and optimise end‑to‑end AI pipelines, transforming complex requirements into scalable, production‑ready solutions.
Model Training & Deployment: Develop, fine-tune, and operationalise machine learning and deep learning models, ensuring high performance and seamless integration into BMW's platforms.
AIOps, MLOps & Automation: Implement robust CI/CD workflows for AI, ML, automate training pipelines, and ensure reliable monitoring, reporting, governance, and lifecycle management of AI systems.
Performance Optimisation: Continuously evaluate, benchmark, and optimise AI models and services for efficiency, accuracy, and real-time performance in large-scale environments.
Collaborative Solution Engineering: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including software engineers, data experts, and product visionaries—to engineer AI-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
Whatever you’re working on, here’s the lowdown on the technical skills you’ll be developing:
At least 7 years with a strong background in software engineering, digital platforms, and large-scale technology delivery.
Experience defining and executing AI or technology strategies in complex environments.
Solid understanding of AI, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, with a practical mindset
Experience with Large Language Models and the applied usage patterns.
Experience with model monitoring, observability, MLOps tooling, and Agile.
Experience working with public cloud platforms, especially AWS, and related AI/ML technologies and services is a plus.
Experience with model comparison, security, privacy and FinOps in the context of AI is a plus.
Knowledge about model quality, output validation and guardrails is a plus.

Apart from strong technical skills, our fast-paced, fully agile environment values autonomy, teamwork, interaction, and resilience. Therefore, our AI Masterminds should:
Embrace agile practices, especially Scrum, leveraging its events to foster a high-performing team.
Be cross-functional, developing new skills to enable a team that owns the entire product lifecycle.
Apply standard engineering practices using tools like version control, IDEs, and dashboards for organised development.
Adopt DevOps best practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for building, testing, and deploying reliable software.
Operate software post-deployment, including outside working hours if needed (extra compensation applies).
Travel abroad occasionally to support all phases of product development.
Have excellent English oral and written skills.
